As a case manager, I support both employees and employers during sick leave, ensure effective communication, support the reintegration process and ensure that the right steps are taken, in accordance with laws and regulations, to get the employee back to work quickly and sustainably.
The aim is to reduce absenteeism and achieve a successful, sustainable return to work.
As a reintegration consultant, I guide employees with cancer during their reintegration process.
My passion for this work is personal: I myself have been diagnosed with cancer and have gone through the intensive process of treatment, recovery and reintegration. This experience has not only given me deep insight into what it means to be ill and have to rebuild, but also a huge motivation to help others on their way back to work.
Na een lange en intensieve periode van re-integratie, waarin zowel ik als mijn werkgever er niet meer uitkwamen hoe we mijn werkvermogen konden herstellen, besloot ik de hulp in te schakelen van een gespecialiseerd re-integratieconsultant. Deze beslissing markeerde niet alleen een belangrijk keerpunt in mijn eigen herstel, maar legde ook de basis voor mijn missie om andere mensen in vergelijkbare situaties te ondersteunen en de oprichting van Sterk Terug.
I soon discovered that reintegration after cancer is fundamentally different from reintegration after other illnesses. It requires not only medical care, but also specific guidance for both employee and employer. I realized that it is not just about returning to work, but about finding a new balance, restoring trust and slowly returning to a working rhythm.
